Bongwater - Too Much Sleep (1989)

Deeply surreal, in the truest sense of the word, intensely psychedelic, in a way that avoids all the possible cliches, hugely entertaining from start to finish, and totally essential.

Enjoy:

One of the best bands ever. Did you see their late night TV appearance with Screamin' Jay Hawkins? Classic.

Music starts about 2 minutes in...

Great video! Thanks for posting. I have the song on 7" so I'll post that alongside Double Bummer sometime in the future. They certainly were one of my favourite bands and as I said in the post - proper, mindbending, horizon-expanding, out-of-body-experience inducing psychedelia. I spent many a happy hour drooling in darkened rooms with this album blaring.

I am really enjoying your blog - the esoteric zip files, and the storytelling was ringing my bell, then you throw Bongwater into the mix? You, sir, are an asset to the information superhighway!!!

Hi CWC, glad you're enjoying yourself. Got more Bongwater to post in future, and some other Shimmy Disc goodies.
