I found this record in a $.50 clearance bin last week -- such a great find. I've been collecting King Sunny Ade for the last couple months.
About two minutes into the first side, the vocals sound like he's going to sing "it's a long, long way to travel", but it's awkwardly cut off halfway through the word "travel". It happens again several times through the rest of the song, so it's not an accident. It's like the vocal track was intentionally switched off right then.
Do you have any idea why? It sounds so weird in an otherwise really fluid-sounding song.
This is a fantastic type of music, I'm learning and knowing so many bands and genders thanks to you.
Can this album be reuploaded? I would sincerely appreciate it!
Hi Ms A,

Cheers.
